Flexibility in Business

Since business today moves so quickly and is ever changing, it is so important to work with flexibility in global business world. In order to make balance between work and outside of life, the employees who have ability to make profits for a business deserve flexibility from company. On the other hand, in order to make maximum profits, the employers have right to fire employees with flexibility for an effectively running business. I want to discuss flexibility in business.

First, the employees have right to use flexibility in work place if they are excellent workers. According to this article, “Flexibility equals productivity”, the author, Tory Johnson(2006), insists that flexibility is the efficient way to balance work and outside life in views of employees. Especially, women are working increasingly in modern times and high technology makes workers flexible in business. Both big reasons make flexibility in workplace. The employers have to help employee’s happiness by listening to their requirements. For example, if you are skillful employee, you can make an alternative schedule for your convenience in the company and you can stay home with computer and high-speed Internet access. If you are house wife, you can deduct the hours for mom’s hand for the family because skillful employees are very precious sources in company. So, you had better appear to your boss with powerful performance to attract your boss. And it’s important to make proposal to the problem with research, benchmarks, trial period.

Second, the employers have right to use flexibility in business for maximizing profit. The young people have to get ability to adapt to business world. In views of the owner, since the flexibility of employment is very important to run business, it is natural to fire lazy workers who can’t provide profits to the company any more . Business is not charity to give money to the employees for free. It is impossible to get stable job in changeable business world. The employers tend to use excellent workers, fire incompetence workers based on their accomplishments. This is also flexibility in running business. According to article, “People power grips France”, French people power against this flexibility of employers. The countries of capitalism follow the tendency of flexibility of business, while French eventually failed to pass new contracts of flexibility in business. This means that business situation is very poor at running business because it is difficult to hire new excellent workers for the workplace for profitability instead of incompetent one.

In competitive business world, the flexible change is inevitable to the employers and employees for high profitability and happiness. Not only the employees are able to move to a new job by good conditions for individual satisfaction, but also the employers are able to choose good workers for high profitability. Flexibility is the best way to make balance between profitability and happiness in business world.
